MOD makes pizza right before your eyes. You watch the yum build, topping by delicious topping. So when MOD launched wings, we had to make sure you could almost taste them through the screen — big, saucy, and impossible to ignore. We were actually able to eat the wings on set and man, the visuals had a lot of flavor to live up to.

Approach & Methodology

MOD's wings needed to earn their place on a menu built around pizza — which meant the visuals had to hit like hot honey on a garlic chicken wing. Steven Hansen pulled double duty as director of photography and 3D artist, building the flavor cue explosions that cut between the live footage. That interplay between real food and CG heat gave the spot its pulse: not a food ad pretending to have energy, but one that delivered. ILLUXION developed the storyboards with MOD's internal team and Hansen, mapping a visual flow that could carry variety without losing the single-minded focus on appetite. We programmed our motion control robot, ran the camera, and even painted a good portion of our cyc wall red. Hansen lit the wings so screen looked lickable. The edit pulled it together, threading the 3D moments into the live footage so the transitions feel inevitable rather than grafted on. First food shoot. First project with MOD. The kind of first that sets the standard for everything to come.
